How to set up Cherax (GTA V)

Redeem your Cherax key at cherax.menu, disable BattlEye, then download the loader and inject.

Cherax requires BattlEye to be disabled or it will not inject. Rockstar Games Launcher: Settings → GTA V → disable BattlEye. Steam / Epic: add the -nobattleye launch argument to the game.

1. Redeem your key

Open cherax.menu and register a free account — or sign in if you already have one.

Confirm your email with the verification link Cherax sends you.

Open the Redeem Key section of your Cherax account, paste your license key exactly as it appears in your email, and confirm — your subscription activates instantly.

2. Download & inject

Temporarily disable antivirus / Windows Defender so the loader isn't quarantined — all injectors get flagged, this is expected.

Download the Cherax loader from the loader section of your account and run the .exe as administrator.

Make sure BattlEye is disabled (see the warning above), then select GTA V in the launcher and click Inject.

Wait 15–20 seconds — GTA V launches automatically once injection succeeds.

The menu works in both story mode and online; open it with the keybind shown in the loader.

Playing online with BattlEye disabled works best in sessions where you are the host (or another BattlEye-disabled player is) — public lobbies with a normal host can kick you.

Troubleshooting

  • Won't inject — confirm BattlEye is off (launcher setting or -nobattleye), add the Cherax app and the Cherax folder in Documents to your antivirus exclusions, run as administrator, and delete the Cherax folder in Documents so it regenerates. OneDrive can break Documents permissions — pausing or removing it helps.
  • Crash on inject — disable HDR in Windows display settings, verify your GTA V game files, and delete the Cherax folder in Documents.
  • Curl error in the loader — connect through a VPN and remove third-party antivirus; it can interfere even when disabled.
  • "GTA detected a fatal error" — usually faulty game files rather than Cherax; look up the exact code shown (e.g. ERR_GFX_STATE) and verify your game files.
  • Subscribed scripts not showing — connect through a VPN and restart the loader.
  • Kicked by BattlEye even without Cherax — you joined a public lobby you weren't hosting; the kick clears in 12–24 hours. Stick to sessions you host.
  • Cherax folder missing from Documents — check the root of your C: drive; the loader falls back there when OneDrive blocks Documents permissions.
